Black Hills Spruce trees are noted for their dark green foliage and conical form. It has been planted throughout the upper Midwest area for years. Seed for this year's bare root crop was collected near the nursery & for container stock, from the Black Hills of South Dakota.

Meyer Spruce is native to China and is similar in appearance to the Colorado Blue Spruce. This is a hardy tree with dense, bluish-green needles. The meyer spruce has a good form and grows on a wide variety of soils. It grows slowly the first few years after planting, but once established, the growth rate is similar to the Blue Spruce.
